Veteran Nollywood actress, Idowu Phillips, fondly known as Mama Rainbow, has celebrated her 83rd birthday and 60 years on stage, marking a remarkable milestone in Nigeria’s entertainment history.
The iconic actress took to Instagram on Thursday, October 16, to express profound gratitude to God, her family, fans, and colleagues for their unwavering love and support throughout her illustrious career that spans over six decades.
Reflecting on her journey, Mama Rainbow described her life in theatre and film as one “filled with music, memories, love, and endless gratitude,” thanking God for the strength that has sustained her through countless performances since she joined her late husband’s theatre troupe in the 1960s.

The actress also paid a heartfelt tribute to her son and manager, Femi Phillips, describing him as her “pillar and daily joy,” whose dedication has kept her legacy alive.
“A special thank you to my son, my manager, my baby, and my close friend you are my pillar, my daily joy, and the reason I keep shining. Your dedication keeps my legacy alive,” she added.
