Afrobeats sensation Asake has emerged as the most-streamed artist on Spotify in Nigeria, according to new data released by the streaming giant.

The announcement coincides with Spotify’s fifth anniversary of operations in Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana, highlighting the platform’s growing footprint across the continent.

In a statement celebrating the milestone, Spotify said, “Celebrating five years of Spotify in Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana, powered by you.”

The company credited listeners across the region for driving music consumption and digital streaming growth.

Asake topped a list dominated by Nigeria’s biggest music exports, ranking ahead of Wizkid, Seyi Vibez, Burna Boy, and Davido — a clear reflection of Afrobeats’ continued dominance in the Nigerian music space.
