Stop Politicising Insecurity, Katsina APC Chieftain Tells Opposition

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, Hon. Abdulaziz Maituraka, has cautioned opposition leaders against politicising the security challenges in the state.

Speaking at a meeting with APC supporters over the weekend, Maituraka said it was unfair for opposition parties to blame the state government for problems that predated the current administration.

He reminded critics that security is primarily the responsibility of the Federal Government, while state governments play only a supportive role.

According to him, the security situation in Katsina has recorded improvements compared to previous years.

“Some of those now criticising this government on security matters were once in power themselves,” Maituraka said. “My advice to such people is to stop politicising insecurity. The state government is working closely with relevant stakeholders to address the situation.”

He also urged APC members across the state to obtain their voter cards and actively support the party’s programmes ahead of future elections.

Maituraka reiterated the party’s commitment to strengthening grassroots mobilisation and sustaining security cooperation between communities and law enforcement agencies in Katsina.
