FAAN MD Elected Airport Council International Vice President

Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has been elected Vice-President of Airports Council International (ACI) Africa. Her election was ratified during the 34th ACI Africa General Assembly held in Lusaka, Zambia.

In her new role, Mrs Kuku becomes not only Vice-President of the regional body but also a permanent member of the ACI World Governing Board, elevating her from her previous position as Regional Advisor for Africa.

President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations, commending Mrs Kuku’s leadership, dedication and foresight. In a statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President said her elevation reflects the “sustained efforts and commitment” by FAAN’s management to ensuring air transport in Nigeria is safe, efficient and meets the highest international standards — efforts that have now won wider recognition.

As Vice-President of ACI Africa and member of the World Governing Board, Mrs Kuku has committed to:

Championing initiatives to ensure airports are safe, efficient and passenger-centred.

Enhancing connectivity throughout Africa by encouraging adherence to best practices and facilitating infrastructure development.

Strengthening Nigeria’s aviation sector, aligning with global standards, and attracting further investment and partnerships.
