By Esther Ososanya

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have remained in 36th place in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking, despite clinching their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco last month.

The update, released Thursday by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), reflects global movements in women’s football based on recent international performance.

While they did not move globally, Justine Madugu’s squad maintained their dominance on the continent, ranking first in Africa ahead of Banyana Banyana (South Africa), Atlas Lionesses (Morocco), Copper Queens (Zambia) and Indomitable Lionesses (Cameroon)

The team’s WAFCON win further extended their record as the most successful side in African women’s football history.
