PDP Unveils Sub-Committees for 2025 Elective National Convention in Ibadan

Convention: PDP Governors Close Ranks, Promise Fair Contest in Ibadan

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released the list of members appointed to serve on various sub-committees ahead of its 2025 Elective National Convention scheduled for 15–16 November in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday through the party’s official X handle.

According to the statement:

“The National Convention Organising Committee, on behalf of the National Executive Committee of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, formally releases the membership list of the approved sub-committees for the 2025 Elective National Convention. The convention, scheduled to take place in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November 2025, will serve the purpose of electing new national officers of the party.”

The lists, endorsed by the Chairman of the National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) and Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri, featured more than 100 names across categories including accreditation, security, electoral matters, logistics, and welfare.

Prominent party leaders, sitting governors, former governors, senators, and other stalwarts were appointed to head the committees.

  • Accommodation Committee: Chaired by Governor Ademola Adeleke, with Dr Ibrahim Dankwambo as Deputy Chairman and Alhaji Gamboa Gade as Secretary.
  • Accreditation Committee: headed by Governor Dauda Lawal, with Ashamu Abantekewei as Deputy and Umar Bature as Secretary.
  • Contact and Mobilisation: chaired by Governor Douye Diri, with Senator Abba Moro as Deputy and Emmanuel Ekpe as Secretary.
  • Constitutional Amendment Committee: led by former Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel, with Barr. Mark Jacob as Deputy and Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN) as Secretary.
  • Electoral Committee: Chaired by NCOC Chairman, Governor Umaru Fintiri, with Governor Adeleke as Deputy and Dr Okereke Ipeazu as Secretary.
  • Entertainment and Welfare: headed by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, with Hajiya Hassana Dikro as Deputy and Mrs Amina Darasimi as Secretary.
  • Medical Committee: chaired by former Senate President Bukola Saraki, assisted by Jumoke Akinjide as Deputy and Dr Josephine Ugeh as Secretary.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation Committee: chaired by Dr Agbo Emmanuel, with Senator Tajudeen Abbas as Deputy and Dr Edward Aje as Secretary.
  • Protocol Committee: chaired by Governor Caleb Muftwang, with Senator Olaleke Chewunmi as Deputy and Tolbin Godwin as Secretary.
  • Publicity Committee: chaired by Governor Bala Mohammed, with Lady Ime Udom as Deputy and Lucky Igbinedion as Secretary.
  • Security Committee: headed by Governor Kefas Agbu, with Senator Austin Akobundu (Rtd) as Deputy and Alhaji Yerima Hussaini as Secretary.
  • Transportation Committee: chaired by Governor Seyi Makinde, with Senator Sunday Marshall Katung as Deputy and Hon. Dr Adebayo Adepoju as Secretary.
  • Venue Committee: led by Oyo State Deputy Governor Adebayo Lawal, with Hon. Laurentia Mallam as Deputy and Hon. Scholastica Kanebi as Secretary.

The PDP said the committees will coordinate preparations for the convention, which is expected to elect new national officers of the party.
