Nasarawa APC Deputy Chairman Passes Away

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has been thrown into mourning following the death of its Deputy Chairman, Hon. Aliyu Yakubu Barde.

Barde, a respected political figure, reportedly passed away in Lafia on Tuesday morning after a brief illness.

His sudden demise has left a vacuum in the leadership of the party at a time when political activities in the state are gaining momentum ahead of future elections.

Confirming the sad development, the APC State Publicity Secretary, High Chief Otaru Douglas, described Barde’s passing as a monumental loss not just to the APC but to Nasarawa State at large.

Hon. Barde had previously served as Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman of Wamba Local Government Area during the administration of former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, a position in which he was widely commended for his leadership and grassroots mobilisation.

According to family sources, the late Deputy Chairman was laid to rest in his hometown at the Wamba local government area in accordance with Islamic rites.

State APC Publicity Secretary, Chief Otaru Douglas, described his death as a huge loss to the party and the entire state.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, political associates, and the APC,” he said.

The Nasarawa political community, party faithful, and associates continue to pour in their condolences, remembering Barde as a dedicated servant of the people.
