Ali Bukar Dalori has formally assumed office as the acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the resignation of Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.
Addressing members of the National Working Committee (NWC) on Monday at the party’s national secretariat, Dalori said he accepted the responsibility with humility, loyalty, and a sense of duty.
He noted that his appointment was in line with Ganduje’s resignation and the directive of President Bola Tinubu.
Dalori praised Ganduje’s contributions to the party, describing his tenure as one of experienced leadership and clear direction since assuming office in August 2023.
“We are all aware of the significant contributions Dr Ganduje made during his tenure,” he said. “On behalf of the entire APC family, I express our heartfelt gratitude to him and wish him full recovery and strength as he focuses on his health.”
Pledges Inclusive and Transparent Leadership
The acting chairman pledged to lead the party with transparency, inclusiveness, and a sense of unity.
He said his emergence should not be viewed as a personal victory but as a moment for collective purpose.
“This is a period for consolidation, not conflict; for maturity, not division; and for vision, not personal ambition,” he stated.
Dalori urged the party to strengthen internal structures and re-engage with its base across the country in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Reaffirms Support for Tinubu’s Agenda
He reaffirmed the APC’s full support for President Bola Tinubu, describing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda as a roadmap to tackle the nation’s economic, security, and unity challenges.
“The APC remains the political vehicle to drive this transformation,” Dalori said. “We will stand by the president in full loyalty and partnership.”
