The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has credited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the wave of infrastructural projects ongoing across the FCT, especially in the roads sector.

Wike made the remarks during the commissioning of the newly constructed right hand service carriageway of the Inner Northern Expressway (INEX), stretching from Ring Road 3 (RR3) to the Outer Northern Expressway, also known as the Murtala Mohammed Expressway.
The road links the Idu industrial zone to Zuba and was commissioned as part of activities marking President Tinubu’s second year in office.
Deputy Senate President Represents President Tinubu
President Tinubu was represented at the event by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.
Wike praised the President for prioritising the development of road infrastructure in Abuja since his administration began.
He described road infrastructure as the driver of any economic growth, adding that, “Investors will come when there are roads.”
He said no investor would want to build roads before doing business, stressing the importance of government provided infrastructure in attracting private sector interest.
Ten Projects Commissioned in Ten Days
Wike highlighted that the FCT had witnessed 10 project commissions in the past 10 days, with President Tinubu attending five personally.
He noted that top political figures, including the Senate President and House Speaker, had represented the President at other events.
He revealed that seven more projects were still scheduled for commissioning before the end of June, with events slated to be led by the Senate President, House Speaker, and Vice President between June 27 and July 3.
Reaffirming his loyalty to the Tinubu led administration, Wike promised to continue delivering under the “Renewed Hope Agenda,” stating that Abuja residents had benefited significantly from presidential support.
Performance Is the ‘Rigging’, Says Wike
On the upcoming FCT Area Council elections, Wike said the opposition had no meaningful campaign message to offer.
He said: “For those running for office, I don’t know what they will preach to the people. The projects speak for themselves.”
Wike declared that his administration’s performance had already “rigged out” the opposition, pointing to visible developments like roads, terminals, and schools.
“When you provide what the people want, everything is gone. The project is the rigging.”
