U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a five-day pause on planned military strikes targeting Iranian energy infrastructure, following what he described as “very productive” talks with Iran.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday, Trump said recent engagements between the United States and Iran over the past two days had yielded positive progress toward resolving ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
According to him, the decision to halt the strikes was based on the “tone and tenor” of the discussions, which are expected to continue throughout the week.

“We have had very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East,” he stated.
Trump added that he had directed the Department of War to suspend any planned military action against Iranian power plants and energy facilities for five days, pending the outcome of the negotiations.
The development signals a possible de-escalation in tensions between the two countries, as diplomatic efforts intensify toward a broader resolution.
