Former presidential aide Reno Omokri says President Bola Tinubu’s nomination of him as an ambassador-designate has deepened his appreciation of forgiveness and national service.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Omokri thanked God, his family and President Tinubu, describing the nomination as an act that reflects the administration’s focus on national healing.
Omokri said the president’s leadership style had reshaped his outlook on the country.
“The President has taught me the meaning of forgiveness and has helped me better understand what patriotism entails,” he said, adding that Tinubu demonstrates “Christlikeness” and deserves support from all Nigerians.
He offered prayers for God’s guidance on Tinubu and for Nigeria’s success under his administration.
Tribute to Parents and National Security Adviser
Omokri paid tribute to his parents, Esijolomi and Omerewumi, for shaping his character.
He also praised National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, describing him as “a personification of virtue.”
“May God bless Malam Nuhu Ribadu. If it were possible for all the goodness on Earth to be domiciled in a single human being, that person would be Malam,” he said.
Omokri thanked his wife, Hana, whom he credited for her unwavering support during politically tense periods.
“She has been a pillar by my side and helped settle my mind for the three years that enemies of the President made me their foe because of my unalloyed support for the President and unrelenting loyalty to Nigeria,” he said.
Fani-Kayode Also Thanks Tinubu
Former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode, who was also listed among the ambassadorial nominees, expressed appreciation in a separate post on X.
“I thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for nominating me to be an Ambassador of our great country Nigeria. This is indeed a great honor for which I give God the glory,” he wrote.
