Tinubu Approves Posting of Four Ambassadors to US, UK, France, Turkey

President Bola Tinubu has approved the deployment of four ambassadors-designate to key diplomatic missions in the United States, United Kingdom, France and Turkey.

The approvals are part of the postings of 68 ambassadors-designate earlier confirmed by the Senate in December 2025.

According to the postings, Ayodele Oke has been named ambassador-designate to France, while Lateef Are will serve as ambassador-designate to the United States of America.

Also approved is the appointment of Aminu Dalhatu, a former Nigerian ambassador to South Korea, as high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.

Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, a former governor of Kebbi State, has been posted as ambassador-designate to Turkey.

The posting comes ahead of President Tinubu’s scheduled state visit to the country next week.

In a memo addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the president directed the ministry to formally notify the governments of the four countries of the postings in line with established diplomatic procedures.

The directive was conveyed in a statement issued on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

The remaining ambassadors-designate are expected to be posted to their respective countries in phases.
