Senate Minority Leader Moro Denies Reports of PDP Defection

Senate Minority Leader and Benue South Senatorial District lawmaker, Comrade Abba Moro, has dismissed reports suggesting he plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, Moro described the speculation as “ridiculous”, saying he has not held any discussions with anyone about leaving the party.

The statement emphasised that Moro, a founding member of the PDP, remains fully committed to the party’s ideals and values and has no intention of abandoning it despite current internal challenges.

“Senator Moro finds the rumour ridiculous, as there’s no discussion anywhere with anybody to that effect. The Senator, a founding member of PDP, remains fully committed to the ideals and values of the party and will continue to remain with it,” the statement said.

More Confident Of Calm Amid Party Crisis

Acknowledging ongoing difficulties within the PDP, Moro expressed confidence in the party’s internal conflict-resolution mechanisms, describing them as effective in addressing disputes.

He urged the public to disregard the rumour, attributing it to “mischief makers who are losing sleep over the capability of PDP to rise from the crises stronger and more competitive.”

The Senate Minority Leader also called on PDP supporters nationwide to remain loyal and continue working to rebuild the party and restore it to a winning position.
