PDP: Turaki’s NWC Tightens Grip as Political Heavyweights Converge In Abuja

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is moving quickly to consolidate its leadership structure as statutory organs and influential blocs rally behind the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) headed by Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN.

In a statement issued by the National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Dakas Shan, the party said state chairmen, National Assembly caucuses, National Ex-Officio members, and forums of former governors, former ministers, and past NWC officials have lined up a series of solidarity engagements with the new leadership in Abuja.

According to the schedule, the NWC will hold separate meetings on Wednesday with state chairmen, members of the House of Representatives, and National Ex-Officio members.

During the sessions, the Committee will also present the Certificate of Return to Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, the party’s candidate for the June 20, 2026, Ekiti governorship election.

Former governors, former ministers, and former NWC officials are expected to meet the Turaki-led leadership on December 16, while the Senate Caucus will hold its own session on December 17.
