Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Accord Party for the 2026 election.
His clearance followed internal party procedures that endorsed him as the party’s sole aspirant for the ticket.
About 150 delegates of the Accord Party, drawn from all local government areas of the state, gathered on Wednesday morning ahead of the official ratification exercise.

Adeleke joined the Accord Party on Tuesday after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing internal crises.
Screening Committee Issues Clearance Certificate
In a statement issued by the chairman of the Accord Party Screening Committee, Elder Ibe Thankgod, the governor was confirmed to have met all requirements for nomination.
Thankgod, who also serves as the party’s national organising secretary, presented a certificate of clearance to Adeleke and described him as a worthy aspirant.
Responding, Governor Adeleke thanked the committee and party leadership, expressing confidence ahead of the polls.
“I am ready for the primary and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace,” he said.
