The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has concluded emergency response operations following a multi-vehicle accident along the Abuja–Nyanya Expressway.
The crash, which occurred on Wednesday at the Kugbo axis, involved a fuel tanker that reportedly lost control and rammed into several vehicles during peak traffic hours.
In a statement posted on its official X handle, NEMA confirmed that no lives were lost, although several persons sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The Head of NEMA Abuja Operations Office, Zakari Abubakar, led the response team in collaboration with other emergency agencies.

The agency said the coordinated intervention helped to quickly clear the traffic gridlock and restore the free flow of vehicles along the busy route.
Emergency responders also secured the scene and dampened the affected area to prevent any potential fire outbreak, given the involvement of a fuel tanker.
Other agencies, including the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Federal Fire Service, participated in the operation.
NEMA confirmed that the situation has been brought under control, with normal activities fully restored in the area.
