The Acting Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government to urgently strengthen security measures in the state following a brutal attack that claimed 13 lives.
Gunmen stormed a mosque at Unguwan Muntau community in Malumfashi Local Government Area on Tuesday, killing worshippers during prayers.
Reacting to the tragedy, Lawal-Jobe stressed the need for immediate presidential action to end the persistent threats facing citizens.
“We respectfully request Mr President to give matching orders to all security agencies to holistically and decisively bring an end to these unprovoked attacks on our peaceful communities. The people of Katsina State deserve to live in safety and pursue their livelihoods without fear,” he said.
He added that farmers, traders, and families must not be condemned to living in perpetual fear.
Commends vigilantes, security operatives
While lamenting the recurring violence, the acting governor expressed gratitude to security agencies currently deployed in the state.
