FCT Police Cracks Down on Armed Robbers, Drug Traffickers, Vehicle Thieves

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has intensified efforts to protect residents and reduce crime. Between October 9 and 18, 2025, officers conducted coordinated, intelligence-led operations across Abuja.

The Scorpion Squad, Kubwa, Life Camp, and Mabushi Divisions carried out the missions with remarkable success.

The operations led to the arrest of Manaseh Emmanuel (36), Dogora Ibrahim (21), and Ibrahim Idamusa (40). They belong to a notorious armed robbery gang led by Ibrahim Yakubu, alias “Ycome”, who is currently held at the Kuje Correctional Centre.

Meanwhile, Life Camp Division arrested Umar Abubakar, Iliyasu Ibrahim, Usman Ibrahim, and Alkasim Abubakar. They are part of a ten-man gang responsible for violent robberies in Kubwa, Life Camp, and Mpape.

In separate operations, Bello Mohd Tambuwal was caught stealing a 2019 Toyota Corolla. Also, Paul Onogwu was intercepted with fifteen bags of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.

The police recovered several items, including:

•A cutlass, sword, and jackknife

•A stolen Toyota Land Cruiser

•A black 2019 Toyota Corolla (Chassis No: JTNK4RBE1K3054902)

•A Toyota Camry (Registration No: KRD 391 JF)

•Fifteen bags of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa

Commissioner of Police, CP Dantawaye Miller, praised the officers for their dedication. He urged all Divisional Police Officers to sustain the crackdown across the FCT. “We will continue to target criminal elements until every hideout is uncovered and the FCT is completely free of crime,” he said.

He also encouraged residents to report suspicious activities.

The FCT Police Command reaffirmed that the Command remains committed to public safety and security throughout the Federal Capital Territory.
