A support group, APC Volunteer, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s decision to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election, describing the move as a sign of confidence, stability and continuity in government.
The group’s National Director-General, Victor Walsh Oluwafemi, stated this in a statement issued on Monday.
He said retaining Shettima would strengthen public confidence in the administration as it continues to pursue economic reforms, institutional development and efforts to tackle the country’s security challenges.
Tinubu-Shettima Partnership
Oluwafemi said successful governments are built on trust, consistency and a shared vision, adding that the Tinubu-Shettima partnership has continued to provide leadership during a period of significant national reforms.

Group Commends Security Agencies
The APC Volunteer also congratulated President Tinubu, Vice President Shettima, the Armed Forces, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies on the successful rescue of abducted schoolchildren.
He described the operation as a major achievement, saying it reflected the government’s commitment to protecting lives and restoring hope to affected families.
Oluwafemi further praised security personnel for their sacrifices, noting that improved coordination among security agencies and intelligence-led operations had contributed to recent successes in tackling insecurity.
Calls for Sustained Investment in Security
While acknowledging that insecurity remains a major national challenge, he urged the government to sustain investments in intelligence gathering, surveillance technology, border security and the welfare of security personnel.
According to him, strengthening these areas is essential to consolidating the gains already recorded by security agencies.
Warns Against Politicising Insecurity
Oluwafemi also cautioned political actors against exploiting security issues for partisan advantage.
He said terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes affect all Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliation, ethnicity or religion, and should not be turned into campaign issues.
He urged political leaders, opinion moulders and public commentators to exercise restraint in their public engagements, warning that divisive narratives could erode public confidence and weaken national unity.
The group reaffirmed its support for the Tinubu administration and encouraged Nigerians to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing credible information to support ongoing efforts to improve security across the country.
