Adelabu Denies Alleged Link Between Aide, Sister’s Kidnap

Former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has dismissed allegations linking his Personal Assistant, Ajiboye Sangogade, to the recent abduction of his younger sister and her twin children in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Adelabu made the clarification in a statement issued on Wednesday through his media aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, describing the claims as false, baseless and malicious.

Mrs. Busayo Adegoke, one of Adelabu’s younger sisters, and her twins were abducted last Wednesday by kidnappers.

The victims were later rescued on Saturday by a joint team of security operatives in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Following their rescue, rumours emerged alleging that Sangogade had supplied information to the kidnappers and was connected to the incident.

Allegations Described as False

Reacting to the claims, Adelabu firmly denied any involvement of his aide in the kidnapping, insisting that the allegations lacked any factual basis.

According to him, those behind the rumours were deliberately attempting to tarnish the reputation of his aide and divert attention from more important issues.

“It has come to our notice that some individuals, who are enemies of progress and the development of Oyo State, are circulating rumours that the Personal Assistant to Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Ajiboye Sangogade, orchestrated the kidnapping of Chief Adelabu’s sister and nephews in Ibadan.

“We categorically reject this claim because it is entirely false and without any basis,” the statement said.
