Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has welcomed members of the political families of former governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel and the late Senator Buruji Kashamu into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abiodun described their decision to join the APC as a significant step towards strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said politicians with common interests should be able to work together and speak with one voice, particularly during an election year, instead of dividing their efforts among different political parties.

“We welcome their decision to put past political differences behind them and work collectively for the progress of our party and our dear state,” he stated, adding that the new members have assured of full integration into the party structures at the grassroots, “without bitterness or discrimination.”

“As we approach the 2027 general elections, our focus is on building a stronger and more united APC across Ogun State.”

Abiodun, however, expressed concern over the recent relaunch of the foundation of Daniel, who represents Ogun East Senatorial District and is a former governor of the state.

He noted that the event was attended by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu, as the special guest of honour.
