Veteran Nollywood actor Fatai Adekunle Adetayo, popularly known as Lalude, has revealed that he and fellow entertainers received only N10,000 per day for feeding while campaigning for President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 elections.
In a trending social media interview, the actor expressed deep disappointment over the current economic hardship, saying they campaigned for nearly two months without any real compensation for their efforts.
Reveals Meagre Daily Allowance During Campaign
He said, “We were given ₦10,000 daily for feeding. We weren’t paid for the work, just that allowance.”
He further revealed that the meagre sum was sometimes reduced or even withheld after organisers suspected they were saving the money.
Regret and Neglect Two Years Into the Administration
Now two years into the administration, Lalude said he regrets the sacrifice, noting that the entertainers’ contributions have gone unacknowledged. His comments reflect growing discontent among some grassroots campaigners who feel abandoned by the government they supported.
