Carter Efe’s Twitch Account Suspended Weeks After Viral Livestream with Davido

Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has had his Twitch account temporarily suspended, just weeks after a viral livestream with Afrobeats superstar Davido.

The livestream, held on December 17, 2025, drew massive global attention. It propelled Carter Efe to the top of Africa’s Twitch rankings, gaining over 405,000 followers and making him the continent’s most-followed streamer on the platform.

On Monday, Carter Efe revealed that Twitch had suspended his account for four months, citing breaches of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. However, the platform did not specify the exact violations.

The suspension comes after Carter Efe overtook several popular Nigerian streamers, including Shank Comics, and delivered one of Twitch’s most-viewed livestreams in collaboration with Davido.

Following the announcement, fans flooded his social media pages with messages of support, calling him a “joy giver” and appealing to Twitch to review and possibly lift the suspension.

Online discussions suggest the ban may have resulted from mass reporting linked to comments or behaviour during the livestream. Meanwhile, claims that Carter Efe was banned on other digital platforms were later debunked.

The suspension has disappointed many followers, particularly during the festive season, leaving fans hopeful for a swift and positive resolution.
