The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has rescued three children from a violent domestic situation and arrested their 45-year-old father, Mr David Tersoo, who was armed with a pump-action gun.
The development was announced in Abuja through a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh.
According to the statement, on September 9, 2025, the police received a distress call about an assault on an eight-year-old girl, her three-year-old sister, and their mother. The mother had been forced out of the house in the middle of the night with her nine-month-old baby.
Commissioner of Police FCT, Ajao Saka Adewale, immediately deployed the Divisional Police Officer, Mpape Division, with operatives from the Gender Unit. Working with the Ministry of Women Affairs, they rescued the children. One of the girls bore visible bruises. Their mother was later traced and reunited with them in protective custody.
