FCT Police Launch Investigation Over Body Found in Car at N’Assembly

FCT Police Command has launched investigation into the discovery of a decomposed body at a construction site within the National Assembly Complex on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

The police authorities learned of the incident after receiving a distress call around 9 a.m.,  about the presence of a lifeless male, suspected to be a labourer.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the National Assembly Division immediately responded. Upon arrival, officers found the man inside a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF.

Police evacuated the body to Asokoro General Hospital, where Medical personnel confirmed the man had been dead for some time.

Following the discovery, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, ordered a discreet investigation. Police are working to identify the deceased and determine how he died.

The FCT Police Command said it would provide updates as the probe progresses.

Meanwhile, security concerns around federal installations have intensified, prompting calls for heightened vigilance in and around sensitive government areas.
