First HoldCo Plc has announced a series of board appointments across its non-commercial banking subsidiaries.
The parent company of First Bank of Nigeria Limited disclosed the development in a statement filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited on Friday.
It said the appointment is part of a broader strategy to strengthen governance and position its businesses for long-term growth.
It noted that the move followed regulatory approvals from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).

According to the company, the changes are designed to deepen corporate governance, enhance board oversight and align the Group with global best practices.
It stated that the new boards bring together seasoned professionals expected to drive innovation and ensure the subsidiaries are better equipped to deliver future-ready products and services.
- First Asset Management Limited
At First Asset Management Limited, Ebikabo Williams has been named Chairman of the Board.
Drawing on her extensive experience across banking, capital markets and consulting, she will serve alongside board members Usman Dantata Jr, Binta Max Gbinije and Alero Mobola Adollo.
First, Holdco believes the appointments will further strengthen the firm’s leadership in Nigeria’s asset and wealth management space.
- FirstCap Limited
FirstCap Limited has appointed Yewande Amusan as Chairman. A seasoned finance professional with experience in both the public and private sectors.
Amusan will work with board members Ahmed Indimi, Irene Akpofure, Adenike Kuti and Zeal Akaraiwe.
- First Securities Brokers Limited
At First Securities Brokers Limited, John Akpeki has been appointed Chairman.
The broking firm was recently ranked among the top performers in the Nigerian Exchange Limited’s Brokers’ Performance Report, based on trading volume and transaction value.
Akpeki is expected to bring his global marketing and networking expertise to the role, alongside fellow board members Omolara Adeyemi, Susan Younis and Kemi Andu-Alausa.
- First Trustees Limited
Similarly, First Trustees Limited has strengthened its governance framework with the appointment of John Lee as Chairman.
Lee brings over four decades of experience in global financial services, with a focus on corporate and institutional banking, as well as wealth management, across Africa.
He will be joined on the board by Abiola Alabi, Adebisi Sola-Adeyemi and Ugochukwu Obi-Chukwu.
- First Insurance Brokers
In its insurance arm, First Insurance Brokers, which marked its 25th anniversary last year, has appointed Akinola Phillips as chairman.
Other board members include Ije Onejeme, Folukemi Akinmeji and Mojisola Cardozo.
