The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has congratulated actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele on the record-breaking success of her latest movie, Behind the Scenes, at the Nigerian box office.
The film has crossed the ₦2.2 billion mark, becoming the first Nollywood movie to achieve this milestone.
NOA highlighted that the movie’s success extends beyond Nigeria, earning over $111,256 in Canada and $190,249 across North America.

In a statement on X, the agency said, “Funke Akindele has done it again, shattering records with Behind the Scenes. From Lagos to Toronto, from cinemas in Abuja to theatres overseas, this movie captivated audiences everywhere.”
This achievement solidifies Akindele as the highest-grossing Nollywood filmmaker in Africa for three consecutive years.
The film also ranks as the highest-grossing Nollywood title in Africa, the UK, and Ireland, underscoring the growing global appeal of Nigerian stories.
