Shettima Departs for Guinea-Conakry to Attend Doumbouya’s Inauguration

Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja for Guinea-Conakry to attend the inauguration of President Mamadi Doumbouya.
Shettima’s media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, disclosed in a statement on Friday that following the inauguration, the Vice President is scheduled to attend the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The inauguration comes after President Doumbouya’s election victory and is scheduled for Saturday, January 17, at the GLC Stadium, Nongo, Conakry.

According to the statement, Shettima’s presence at the ceremony aligns with Nigeria’s strategic goals for regional leadership, economic partnership, and global integration under President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
“It is part of Nigeria’s leadership role within ECOWAS, including support for Guinea’s return to constitutional order following a four-year transition.

“Beyond diplomatic solidarity, the visit also aims to strengthen bilateral trade, which recently saw Nigerian exports to Guinea, particularly manufactured goods and agricultural products, rise to $3.29 million,” the statement added.
