‘Evergreen’ Moringa Soap, produced by Dr Alice Aladi Jonah, a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic Bida, is one of the four prototype products selected for sponsorship by TETFund Alliance for Innovative Research (TETFAIR) as ‘Market Ready Ventures’ in the Academic Solutions Incubation Programme (ASIP).
‘Evergreen’ Moringa Soap is among the four products selected out of 13 presented for assessment by a specialist team assembled by the TETFAIR.
TETFund Executive Secretary, Arch. Sonny Echono, announced the successful products at the closing ceremony of ASIP at Innov8 Hub Abuja.
Echono described the products as not only ‘Market Ready’, but can favourably compete with established ones already in the market.
He congratulated those who participated in the assessment process up to the final stage, assuring that TETFund will provide all necessary support for the successful integration of the products into the market.
“In doing this, we are helping the government achieve its goal of homegrown innovation and technology,” Echono stated.

Before reaching the final stage, Dr Jonah, a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Journalism & Media Studies (JMS), along with Mr Ibrahim Abubakar Mikugi, also a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration & Management (BAM), FPB, participated in not less than three training boot camps on improving specific entrepreneurship skills as well as repackaging the ‘Evergreen Moringa’ soap.

The assessment process, which began in the middle of 2023 had over 3,000 applications from Polytechnics and Colleges of Education received by TETFAIR. However, only 13 applications scaled through the rigorous selection process. Eight were selected from Polytechnics while five came from Colleges of Education.

However, out of the 13 finalists, only four of the products have now been selected for sponsorship.
Commenting on this selection, Dr Jonah thanked TETFund for the privileges and opportunities provided for her product, saying it will go a long way in her success story.
The Academic cum entrepreneur also appreciated the Rector of her institution, Engr. Dr Aliyu Haruna Baba, for being proactive and providing the necessary support for the in-person boot camp training sessions held repeatedly at Innov8 Boot Camp at Abuja.
