Malami criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for causing hardship, especially in the northern region. He noted that insecurity has forced many farmers to abandon their lands. He also condemned policies favouring foreign companies, which, he said, led to the closure of long-standing rice mills.
He added that his governorship bid aims to tackle insecurity, revive farming, and protect the interests of Kebbi residents. Malami dismissed suggestions that his move is motivated by personal gain, insisting it is a rescue mission for the state.
