Kwara Governor Condemns Fresh Bandit Attack, Orders Immediate Security Reinforcement

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has ordered urgent deployment of additional security personnel to Ekiti Local Government Area, with particular focus on the Eruku axis, following a renewed bandit attack in the community.

The directive was contained in a statement issued Wednesday morning by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaiye.

According to the statement, the governor called for immediate action to strengthen the existing security structure in the area and curb further incursions.

Governor Condemns ‘Unconscionable’ Attack

Ajakaiye said the governor strongly condemned the latest assault and expressed sympathy to the people of Eruku and adjoining communities, especially the families and the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) affected by Tuesday’s attack.

“The state government will continue to support the security agencies to tackle these challenges and ensure the safety of lives and properties across the state,” the statement added.

Commends Tinubu for Additional Troops

Governor AbdulRazaq also commended President Bola Tinubu for deploying 900 additional troops to Kwara, noting that the move had already brought noticeable calm to areas previously troubled by insecurity.

“We sincerely thank the President for this,” the statement noted. “We are confident that the additional troops will provide further deterrence, enhance public safety, and restore permanent calm.”
