Tragedy in Kebbi Girls' School as Bandits Kill Vice Principal, Abduct Students

Panic gripped Zuru Emirate in Kebbi State after armed bandits raided Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS), Maga, in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area, killing the vice principal and abducting several students.

The late-night attack claimed the life of Vice Principal Malam Hassan Yakubu Makuku, who reportedly tried to shield students from the assailants.

The exact number of students kidnapped remains unknown, as authorities have yet to release official figures.

A local resident, Murjanatu Hassan Gishiri, confirmed the attack, describing how the assailants entered the school unhindered, unleashing terror and leaving the community in shock.

“It is a heartbreaking tragedy that has thrown the entire region into deep fear and mourning,” she said.

Residents continue to mourn the slain vice principal, remembering him as a dedicated educator and protector of the students.

Security agencies have not yet issued a formal statement, but locals are calling on state and federal authorities for urgent action to rescue the abducted students and prevent further attacks on schools and vulnerable communities in the region.
