Wike, Allies, Plotting To Destroy PDP – PDP Northern Elders

Convention: PDP Governors Close Ranks, Promise Fair Contest in Ibadan

The Northern Elders Unity Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and his allies of trying to destroy the party and weaken opposition politics in Nigeria.

After its 18th General Meeting, the Forum issued a communiqué expressing full confidence in the Acting National Chairman, Iliya Umar Damagum.

It pledged to defend the unity of the PDP against what it called internal sabotage.

The elders condemned desperate efforts by some members to derail the party’s National Convention, scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Forum Vows to Defend Party Unity

Speaking through its National Secretary, Abbas Sadauki, the Forum said its members had unanimously agreed to protect the party’s unity and stability.

“No form of intimidation, blackmail, or lies will stop us from holding the national convention in Ibadan,” Sadauki stated.

He accused some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of working with outside political forces to destabilize the party. According to him, such alliances would soon end in “political shame and regret.”

Elders Reaffirm Confidence in Leadership

The Forum said Wike’s growing influence and political ambitions were fueling internal divisions.

It, however, praised Ambassador Damagum and loyal stakeholders for their commitment to rebuilding the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Furthermore, the group cautioned the judiciary and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against politicians attempting to use national institutions to manipulate the political process.

Reaffirming its loyalty, the Forum insisted that the National Executive Committee’s (NEC) decision to hold the convention stands and must be respected by all members.
