PDP Postpones NEC Meeting Amid Wave of Defections

Convention: PDP Governors Close Ranks, Promise Fair Contest in Ibadan

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting earlier scheduled to hold on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

The postponement was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba.

According to the statement, the decision was reached by the National Working Committee (NWC) during an emergency session convened to address recent developments within the party.

Ologunagba explained that the postponement was made in line with Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).

He added that a new date for the NEC meeting would be announced in due course.

He urged all NEC members to take note of the development and await further communication from the party’s leadership.

The postponement comes amid a wave of defections and internal unrest within the PDP, as several key figures have recently announced their exit from the party.
