Toyota Recalls Over 126,000 U.S. Vehicles Over Engine Stall Risk

Toyota is recalling 126,691 Tundra and Lexus vehicles in the United States after discovering manufacturing debris that could cause engine stalling, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Thursday.

The NHTSA said a remedy is currently being developed and will be applied to affected vehicles once available. Toyota will notify owners when the fix is ready.

Vehicle recalls are a standard safety measure when defects pose risks to drivers and passengers. In the U.S., the NHTSA monitors compliance and ensures automakers provide free repairs, part replacements, or software updates.

Toyota, one of the world’s largest carmakers, has previously recalled vehicles over engine, airbag, and braking system issues. The current recall focuses on Tundra and Lexus models that could experience engine stalls while driving—a hazard that increases the risk of accidents, particularly in heavy traffic or at high speeds.

Affected vehicle owners are advised to remain alert for any unusual engine behaviour and follow Toyota’s instructions until the repair is performed.
