Former Leeds, Tottenham Midfielder Terry Yorath Dies at 75

Former Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Terry Yorath has died at the age of 75 following a brief illness.

His family shared the news on Thursday, remembering him as both a footballing hero and a devoted father. “To most, he was a revered footballing hero, but to us, he was Dad, a quiet, kind and gentle man.

Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort in knowing he is with our brother, Daniel, again,” the statement read.

Yorath played nearly 200 games for Leeds United during his nine-year stint in the 1960s and 70s, contributing significantly to their 1974 First Division title. He also became the first Welshman to feature in a European Cup final the following year.

On the international stage, Yorath earned 59 caps for the Wales national team and later took on coaching duties for the squad, leaving a lasting legacy in Welsh football.
