Argentina forward Julian Álvarez has confirmed he wants to leave Atlético Madrid, signalling a major transfer battle ahead of the next window.
The striker made the revelation in an interview with ESPN following Argentina’s 2–0 victory over Austria at the ongoing World Cup, where his national team continues its strong run.
Álvarez was direct about his position, insisting there was no need for ambiguity. “I don’t want to hide or act like I don’t want to be clear. I try to be honest,” he said.
The 25-year-old added that discussions have already taken place with Atletico Madrid officials and that a separation now appears to be the most logical outcome for all parties.
“I spoke to Atlético people and I think the best for everyone involved is for me to leave,” he stated.
“I Want to Fulfil My Dream” — Exit Motivated by Ambition
Beyond the immediate transfer request, Álvarez framed his decision as a career ambition rather than conflict-driven dissatisfaction.
“I want to fulfill my dream,” he added, without detailing the exact destination or project he is targeting.
The statement is expected to intensify speculation over his next move, with elite European clubs already monitoring the situation closely.
Interest in the Argentina international is already widespread. Top clubs, including Julian Alvarez, have been linked with moves from Europe’s elite, notably Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Barcelona.
Reports indicate that Atletico Madrid have already rejected a €150 million offer from Real Madrid, underlining both the player’s valuation and the club’s reluctance to lose him easily.
