Khamis Musa Darazo, a loyal supporter of President Bola Tinubu and a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged the Presidency and the party’s national leadership to act swiftly to prevent key figures from leaving the ruling party.
Darazo raised the alarm over reports that former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, might exit the APC, describing the move as a potential political setback for the party both in the North and nationwide.
‘Pantami a Bridge-builder and Reformer’
He described Pantami as more than a politician, calling him “an intellectual, reformer, and bridge-builder who has used knowledge, faith, and integrity to promote good governance and inspire young Nigerians.”
Darazo noted that several influential APC figures were also considering their positions in the party, warning that the leadership must take decisive action to preserve unity and public confidence.
Loss of Pantami Would Hurt Party’s Image – Darazo
The party chieftain praised Pantami’s performance as a minister under former President Muhammadu Buhari, noting that his contributions in the communications and digital economy sector brought about innovation, job creation, and growth in entrepreneurship.
He cautioned that Pantami’s departure would diminish the APC’s intellectual strength and moral standing, while discouraging many young Nigerians who view him as a model of integrity and visionary leadership.
“The APC’s strength lies in unity, inclusion, and visionary leadership,” Darazo said. “Every loyal member matters, especially someone like Professor Pantami, whose influence extends beyond party lines.”
