President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Adeyemi Olumode as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), following the retirement of the current head, Abdulganiyu Jaji.
The announcement came on Wednesday via Maj.-Gen Abdulmalik Jubril (Rtd), Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
Jaji, the outgoing FFS chief, will formally retire on August 13 upon clocking the mandatory retirement age of 60. His exit paved the way for a leadership transition that places Olumode at the top of the agency.
According to Jubril, Olumode is fully qualified for the role. He has successfully completed all required in-service training and command courses, both locally and internationally.
