The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says 1,906,390 (1.9 million) Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been collected by registered voters ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
The figure represents 81.5 per cent of the 2,339,233 (2.33 million) registered voters in the state.
INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee Chairman, Mohammed Haruna, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
According to him, 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.5 per cent of the registered voters, were not collected and have been deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Haruna said some registered voters whose cards were lost, damaged or defaced applied for replacements.

He added that 6,101 applicants whose replacement PVCs were printed downloaded copies of the cards.
INEC has also published a polling-unit-by-polling-unit breakdown of the collected PVCs on its website.
The commission assured political parties, civil society organisations, the media and voters of its preparedness for the election.
INEC said it is ready to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent and inclusive governorship election on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
