The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the commencement of the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for aspirants seeking elective positions ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by Moses Zuwoghe, national chairman of the party, and Ikenna Enekweizu, national secretary, the party said the sale of expression of interest forms would begin on May 13 and end on May 18, 2026.
The party said screening and interviews for aspirants would hold between May 19 and May 21, 2026.
According to the timetable released by the party, only aspirants cleared during the screening exercise would qualify to purchase nomination forms.
The party advised all aspirants to appear for screening with their credentials and other relevant documents.
Nomination Forms Sale, Primaries Schedule Released
The NDC said the sale of nomination forms would commence immediately after the screening exercise from May 21 to May 23, while completed forms must be returned on or before May 25, 2026.
The party added that appeals arising from the screening exercise would be addressed between May 25 and May 26.
It said primary elections for various elective offices would hold on May 27 and May 28, while the presidential primary election is scheduled for May 29, 2026, in Abuja.

According to the party, aspirants seeking tickets for state houses of assembly would be screened in their respective states, while screening for national assembly and presidential aspirants would take place at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
The NDC also disclosed that governorship primaries would be conducted at the local government level.
The party said all aspirants would be required to sign an undertaking in line with its guidelines and code of conduct.
Presidential Aspirants to Pay N60m
The NDC assured members and aspirants of what it described as a transparent and democratic process in the conduct of its primaries.
The party said it would adopt the open secret ballot system to ensure credibility, fairness and internal democracy.
According to the fee structure released by the party, aspirants seeking the presidential ticket are expected to pay N20 million for expression of interest forms and N40 million for nomination forms, bringing the total cost to N60 million.
For the Governorship Ticket, aspirants are expected to pay N10 million for expression of interest forms and N20 million for nomination forms.
The party also fixed the fees for senate aspirants at N3 million and N5 million, respectively, for expression of interest and nomination forms.
House of Representatives aspirants are expected to pay N2 million for expression of interest forms and N4 million for nomination forms.
Aspirants for state houses of assembly would pay N1 million for expression of interest forms and N1.5 million for nomination forms.
The party added that female aspirants and persons living with disabilities would enjoy discounts of 50 percent and 25 percent respectively across all categories.
