The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Barrister Danladi Halilu Envulu-Anza of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the Nasarawa North Senatorial by-election.
The announcement was made on Sunday by the Returning Officer of the election, Professor Aminu Ali, at the College of Education, Akwanga, the designated collation centre for the exercise.
Envulu-Anza polled a total of 45,362 votes, securing a wide margin that effectively sealed the ruling party candidate’s victory in the election.
His performance reflected strong support across the constituency, consolidating the APC’s hold on the senatorial district.
The Labour Party candidate, Hon. Labaran Maku, came second with 12,931 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Emmanuel David Ombugadu, followed closely with 11,331 votes.
Other parties recorded significantly lower figures. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Mohammed Stephen Alaku, polled 4,244 votes, while the NDC candidate, Arc. Ishaya Dubai Dodo scored 1,496 votes.
The results highlight a significant gap between the APC and opposition parties in the contest, with no challenger coming close to closing the margin.
INEC Official Declaration
Professor Aminu Ali, while announcing the final tally, declared Envulu-Anza duly elected, having satisfied the requirements of the electoral process as monitored across the constituency.
The declaration formally concluded the collation process at the Akwanga centre.

Further details are expected as developments unfold.
