Fire Razes Jabi Lake Mall Store in Abuja

An early-morning fire on Thursday damaged part of the popular Jabi Lake Mall in the Federal Capital Territory, sparking panic among security personnel and responders.

The fire, which reportedly started around 3:00 a.m., gutted the Adidas sports store within the complex.

Firefighters from the Federal Fire Service, the Berger Fire Department, and the FCT Fire Service were swiftly deployed, alongside police officers.

FCT Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, who confirmed the incident, stated that officers were mobilised immediately to secure the area and prevent looting.

“We received a distress call at about 3:40 a.m. We immediately deployed our men there to secure the place and prevent any breach of public order,” she said.

The fire has since been contained, and normalcy restored at the facility.
