AFCON 2025: Super Eagles Earn $80,000 in Goal Bonuses

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have earned $80,000 in goal bonuses at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) promised the team $5,000 for every goal scored during the group stage. The Eagles collected $40,000 for the eight goals they scored against Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda.

They added another $40,000 for four goals scored in their Round of 16 clash against Mozambique.

Nigeria will face Algeria in the quarter-final at Marrakesh Stadium on Saturday. The team is scheduled to fly out from Fès on Thursday ahead of the fixture.

Goal bonuses are a standard incentive in international tournaments, aimed at rewarding teams for offensive efficiency and motivating players to perform at their best.
