ADC Convention: Delegates Amends Constitution, Installs David Mark As NWC Chair

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has concluded its national convention in Abuja, with delegates approving changes to the party’s constitution and ratifying a new National Working Committee (NWC) led by former Senate President David Mark.

Emeka Ihedioha, a former governor of Imo State and chairman of the electoral subcommittee, announced the results of the vote.

He said 1,576 delegates were accredited, with 11 votes declared invalid, while 1,471 delegates voted in support of the constitutional amendment, representing 94 per cent approval.

According to him, the outcome confirms that the party’s constitution has been successfully amended.

Earlier, Olumide Akpata, chairman of the legal and convention processes committee, oversaw the ratification of resolutions from the party’s 97th, 98th and 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings.

Enyinnaya Abaribe, senator representing Abia South, moved the motion for the adoption of the resolutions.

Also, Ireti Kingibe, senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), moved the motion for the adoption of resolutions from the party’s 100th NEC meeting held on March 25, 2026.

The resolutions, which addressed the party’s manifesto and nationwide congresses, were adopted by voice vote.
