The Lagos State Government has announced plans to strengthen monitoring and continuous training for frontline health workers to improve primary healthcare delivery across Health District IV.
The announcement came during the 2025 Annual Management Retreat of Lagos State Health District IV, themed “Reinforcing a Motivated and Responsive Workforce for Better Healthcare Delivery.”
The retreat brought together senior officials, including permanent secretaries, department heads, medical officers from local governments and councils, unit heads, and other staff to review strategies for upgrading health facilities and enhancing service quality.

Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Kemi Ogunyemi, stressed that effective healthcare delivery relies heavily on the performance of frontline workers. She stressed the need for regular monitoring and structured training to improve service delivery.
Dr. Ogunyemi also commended Health District IV management for prioritising staff development and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to equipping health workers with skills for responsive, patient-centered care.
