FIRS Hosts Second 2025 Tax Clinic in Abuja to Simplify Tax Compliance

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) is set to hold the second edition of its 2025 Tax Clinic in Abuja through the Emerging Taxpayers’ Group (ETG).

The initiative aims to simplify tax processes, educate citizens, and promote voluntary compliance ahead of the rollout of new tax laws.

The one-day event, themed “Tax Clinic for Tax Clarity: Transitioning into NRS,” will hold on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Nigerian Army Conference Centre, Asokoro, Abuja.

According to FIRS, the Abuja Tax Clinic will help small business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals understand their tax obligations and the transition into the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), a core part of ongoing reforms to modernize and harmonize tax administration.

Executive Chairman of FIRS, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, described the clinic as part of the agency’s inclusive reform agenda.

“Our goal is to simplify tax, not to complicate it,” he said. “The Tax Clinic brings the Service closer to the people, fostering understanding and voluntary compliance through trust.”

It will feature presentations, panel discussions, and advisory desks from partner institutions, including the CAC, JTB, FCT-IRS, NIMC, NIPC, TAT, CITN, ICAN, ANAN, NBA, and NMA. The NMA will also offer free health checks to attendees.

Following the success of the Lagos edition, the Abuja event is expected to attract a large turnout.
