Tears as Three APC Chieftains Die in Kogi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State has been thrown into mourning following the death of three prominent party chieftains.

The deceased are Hon. Onojah James Ignatius, Hon. Jatto Onimisi Suleiman and Alhaji Alih Atabo.

The Kogi State Government announced their deaths in a statement issued on Monday in Lokoja by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo.

According to the statement, Hon. Onojah James Ignatius was a Special Adviser to the Governor and a former Chairman of Igalamela Local Government Area, while Hon. Jatto Onimisi Suleiman served as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor.

Alhaji Alih Atabo was the APC Chairman of Anyigba Ward in Dekina Local Government Area.

Fanwo said the government and people of Kogi State received the news with deep sorrow, describing the deceased as distinguished sons of the state who served with loyalty and commitment.

He added that the trio contributed significantly to the growth of the APC and the development of the state through their various roles in public service and party administration.

However, the state government did not disclose the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

On behalf of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Fanwo conveyed condolences to the families of the deceased, their associates and members of the APC in Kogi State.

The announcement has continued to generate reactions across the state and beyond, with many Nigerians expressing sympathy and calling for clarity on the circumstances of the deaths.

The APC in Kogi State is yet to announce funeral arrangements for the late party chieftains.
