The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared full support for the electronic transmission of election results ahead of the 2027 general elections.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, made this known on Monday, stressing that the ADC backs the establishment of a legal framework compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to transmit results electronically.
Abdullahi explained that adopting e-transmission was essential to safeguard the sanctity of Nigerians’ votes and guarantee transparency in the electoral process.
“If establishing a legal framework for the electronic transmission of election results will compel INEC to act rightly and deepen transparency in our electoral process, then the ADC will stand firmly in support of it,” Abdullahi said.

He maintained that electronic transmission would reduce manipulation, restore public confidence in elections, and ensure that the people’s mandate was respected.
“For us, anything that guarantees that the votes of the people genuinely count and protects the sanctity and integrity of our elections is not just desirable; it is an absolute necessity,” he added.
The ADC spokesman further stressed that credible elections remained central to the survival of Nigeria’s democracy. He noted that INEC must be held accountable to ensure the outcome of the 2027 polls reflects the will of the people.
