In a major squad overhaul ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, Bendel Insurance Football Club has officially confirmed the departure of 25 players, including some of its most prominent first-team names.
Among the key exits are club captain Meyiwa Oritseweyinmi, veteran striker Austin Ogunye, and experienced forward Bernard Ovoke. Also released are Moses Abioye, Michael Enaruna, and Uche Collins the latter appearing twice on the exit list, suggesting a likely clerical duplication.
The mass exodus comes as the Benin Arsenal look to restructure their squad following a commendable performance in the previous campaign, where they secured fifth position with 56 points from 38 matches.
Club insiders suggest the decision is part of a broader technical and tactical repositioning plan, aimed at strengthening the team’s competitiveness in the upcoming season.
